Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs runs several distinct MAEC-AECID scholarship lines through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID); this record covers the Master's Programme (Programa Master), one of the largest, which funds a full-time, in-person official master's degree of no more than 60 ECTS credits at a Spanish university. It is restricted to applicants who are permanent civil servants or employees of the public education system in one of 12 named countries: Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and the Philippines, and who fall within Spain's current bilateral cooperation priorities for their country. The scholarship pays a monthly allocation of EUR 1,900 plus health insurance cover in Spain for the length of the award. The 2025/26 call, published 14 February 2025, ran from 20 February to 6 March 2025, closing at 13:00 Spanish time, and funded up to 90 scholars for study from 1 September 2025 to 31 July 2026, from a total call budget of EUR 1,981,100. Applications go through AECID's electronic headquarters (sede electronica) at aecid.gob.es, where applicants must first register a citizen folder before applying. AECID separately runs other MAEC-AECID lines not covered by this record, including a Diplomatic School programme and university lectureship (lectorado) placements, each with its own eligibility and its own call.
