Korea University vs Yonsei University: Admission, Deadlines, Fees Compared

Korea University and Yonsei University are both long established private universities in Seoul with sharply different English requirements. Korea University asks for IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 100, admitting international undergraduates through International Undergraduate Admission I and II, a holistic, document only review with no fixed quota per major, and charges KRW 5,800,000 to 7,800,000 a semester; its application fee is KRW 150,000 for most fields. Yonsei asks for a considerably lower IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 71, admits once a year for a March start through its International Student Track, charges KRW 4,556,000 to 9,221,000 a semester depending on college, and its undergraduate application fee rose to KRW 200,000 for the 2027 intake, now higher than Korea University's. Yonsei is the larger of the two by enrolment, 27,245 students against Korea University's 24,351. The English floor is the clearest split between them: Korea University sets one of the highest standards among Korean private universities on this site, while Yonsei sets one of the more accessible ones.
