Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University briefly BSMRAAU is a specialized public university established in 2019. It is a university with unique streams of education that transform people into aviation, space, and technology professionals and enthusiasts by providing world-class education.

BSMRAAU is a student-focused and research-intensive university that aims to produce well-rounded professionals and good citizens by instilling knowledge, creativity, skills, human values, patriotism, and discipline.

BSMRAAU started its academic activities in 2020 and produced graduates to fill the needs of the modern aviation and aerospace industry of global standard. With a view to It also centralizes the focus on high productivity high-income activities of the aviation and aerospace sector within 2041, the university focuses on research, innovation, and world-class education.

Fair Information Technology and Unimaginable success in the aviation sector has largely contributed to creating the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU).

The need was felt long ago to establish a higher educational institution to create aeronautical and aerospace professionals in the country. With this in mind, on 28 February 2019, the bill establishing the university was passed and raised by the Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.

Now the university is moving forward with a vision to become a leading international university in aviation, space, and technological studies through excellence.

BSMRAAU Location & Area

The Lalmonirhat Airport, abandoned since World War II, is set to be transformed into Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU). There is also a substation of this university in the capital Dhaka.
